Damage:
- Tree down on power line at Cobbham and Marshall Roads. Georgia Power being notified.
- Part of a tree in the road – and the remaining tree is at risk of falling - St. Andrews Subdivision, off of Evans to Locks Road, just as you turn onto Kemper Drive. Roads & Bridges notified.
- Sudan Drive @ Tower Drive - power lines down
- 2578 Old Pearre Place - tree fell on power lines
- Tubman Road @ Lion Road - tree down in roadway
- Hardy McManus @ Furys Ferry- tree across the road
- Harlem Public Safety is reporting a power line down on a tree that is sparking.
- Driver crashed into a tree on Horizon South Parkway.
- Tree down on power lines at Ridge Road
- Power outages reported in several areas of the county
- Line of storms moving thru Columbia County at this time; Blinding rainfall reported
- Power lines down in Augusta at Hunter Street and Poplar Street and on Darlington Drive at Kissingbower Road
Cancellations/Closures:
- All Boys & Girls Clubs of the CSRA will be closed today, Wednesday January 30th, due to inclement weather. All parents of Boys & Girls Clubs members are urged to collect their children at school or follow instructions issued by the schools regarding bus drop-offs.
- Richmond County schools have canceled all after school sports and activities due to the threat of inclement weather.
- Aiken County schools have canceled all afternoon activities.
- Columbia County schools have canceled all outdoor extracurricular activities.
- Edgefield County schools are releasing class 30 minutes early, and will be canceling all after school activities.
- Aiken Tech is not closing or canceling classes at this time.
- Augusta Tech will be closing at 5:30pm. All evening classes are canceled.
- Augusta Recreation, Parks & Facilities Department has canceled all after school and athletics programs.
- Burke County has canceled all after-school activities.
- Miller-Motte Technical College has canceled all of their evening classes scheduled on Wednesday.
- Georgia Regents University has canceled all classes tonight.
