FOLEY, Ala. (AP) - Authorities in south Alabama say a teen accused of firing a BB gun at a school bus is being held without bond in the Baldwin County Corrections Center.

AL.com (http://bit.ly/SD47Ax) reports 19-year-old Mendrell Porter was arrested Tuesday after police responded to calls about shots fired at a school bus. Porter is charged with throwing or shooting a deadly or dangerous missile at an occupied vehicle.

Authorities say 12 Foley Middle School students and a bus driver were aboard the bus, and no injuries were reported.

Officials say Porter initially denied being involved in the incident or owning a weapon and eventually said he was aiming for a bird when but the bus drove into his line of fire.

It is unclear if Porter has a lawyer.
