UPDATE: Man sentenced for molestation of 11-year-old

BOONE COUNTY, KY (FOX19) -

A Boone County man has been sentenced after police say he sexually molested an 11-year-old girl.

Corey Nida, 25, of Florence, is charged with sexual abuse, rape and sodomy.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office says the abuse occurred over the last six months at Nida's home on White Pine Circle. The victim was entrusted in his care.

Wednesday, Nida was sentenced to 20 years in jail and he was told that he'd have to register as a sex offender after his release.

He's not eligible for parole for 18 years.

Nida is being held in the Boone County Detention Center.
