ARAB, AL (WAFF) -

Ari Hallmark, 8 years old of Arab, desperately wants to help the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in Connecticut, but she needs your help to be able to help them.

After losing five family members in an April, 2011 tornado, Ari wrote an inspirational book called To Heaven After the Storm. She wants to take copies of that book, as well as a project that helped her, called Treasure Boxes, to the victims in Connecticut.

She, her grandmother, and her mentor, Dr. Lisa Reburn of UNA, need plane tickets.

If you'd like to help, go to the To Heaven After the Storm Facebook page and leave a message for Lisa Reburn, or call her at 256-335-1080.

It's $20 to donate a book or Treasure Box, and this is a non-profit organization.

Reburn said they want to hold a presentation in a church or an auditorium in New Town, and they want to give a book and Treasure Box to the 26 families of the victims. Beyond that, they want to give books to the surviving teachers, students and first responders.
