It was a star-spangled battle today in downtown Montgomery for the inaugural Raycom College Football All-Star Classic. Fans flooded the stands at Cramton Bowl to see the Stars take on the Stripes – and it was the Stripes that painted the town red with a victory.

The event, which featured 100 of the nation's top college football recruits, was televised nationally on the CBS Sports Network.

Coached by former NFL Coaches Jim Bates and Dan Reeves, the Stars and Stripes teams battled it out in the newly-remodeled facility at Cramton Bowl. Cramton Bowl previously served as the home of the Blue-Gray Football Classic.

At the end of the first half, Dan Reeves' Stripes had 17 points on the board to Jim Bates' Stars team with 3 points.

The first score came 30 minutes into the game – a field goal by a Stripes team player - LSU senior kicker Drew Alleman. The Stripes followed up wither a touchdown in the second quarter by Missouri Western RB Michael Hill and extra point by Alleman.

The Stars put numbers on the board in the final ten seconds of the first half with a field goal from University of North Carolina kicker Casey Barth.

The Stripes team came back after half time ready to continue the battle against the Stars. University of Virginia TB Perry Jones ran it in for a touchdown followed by an extra point from former Alabama kicker Jeremy Shelley. Michael Hill scored a touchdown with 8 minutes left in the final quarter with the extra point kicked again by Jeremy Shelley.

The Stripes took home the victory at the end of the day with a final score of 31 to 3 with 18,615 people in attendance.
