AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

R&B Funk Band ConFunkShun will headline Paine College's 13th Annual Scholarship Masked Ball on Friday, February 8, 2013. The event will take place in the College's new Health Education Activities Learning (HEAL) Complex at 7 p.m.  Tickets are now available for the black-tie event for $100.00 per person.  The Annual Masked Ball will feature dinner, dancing, and the "Parade of Masks.  Proceeds benefit Presidential Scholars and academically talented students to gain access to a quality education at Paine.

The Annual Scholarship Masked Ball is sure to be among the popular events during the College's Homecoming Weekend.  Recently, the new multi-million dollar HEAL Complex opened to the public.  The new sprawling facility houses the Athletic Department, classrooms, meeting rooms, weight and fitness rooms, and other amenities.  The Masked Ball will take place inside the spacious HEAL Arena that will be transformed for dining, dancing and live entertainment.

ConFunkShun is a star-quality attraction delivering a superb, high-energy show with electrifying choreography, glistening six-part vocal harmonies, and a dash of humor. They are, unquestionably, among the heroes of Funk with romantic ballads and dance-party hits galore.  In addition to ConFunkshun, local talent The Sounds Unlimited Band will entertain patrons throughout the evening.

Masked Ball Committee member, Helene Carter, said, "We are paying close attention to details, adding special touches that will offer comfort and convenience in a festive environment.  For example, patrons will have access to Golf Cart shuttle service to and from their vehicles.  Hosts and hostesses will greet patrons at the Canopy entrance visible from Druid Park Avenue, where they will embark upon the purple carpet walkway to the main event site.  Lounge areas will be available for patrons who wish to mingle prior the event."

The College invites area businesses, corporations and friends to participate by investing in sponsorships for the event. Early reservations for prime seating and sponsorships are now being accepted.
