MONITOR TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WNEM) -

Bay County Sheriff's deputies were called to a Marathon Gas Station at 1100 S. Euclid Ave around 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

When they arrived at the station, which is also home to the Car Wash Village, they were informed that a white male had entered the location armed with a handgun and demanding money.

The man fled the scene and deputies said he was picked up a short time later by more deputies responding to the robbery 911 call. No further details on the man's arrest were released.

Police said the gas station clerk was not injured during the robbery. Authorities said the handgun and other items were recovered from the man.

The robber's name is not being released pending arraignment.
