NAIAS continues in Detroit

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT, MI (WNEM) -

Another busy day in Detroit as it's day two of the media preview at the North American International Auto Show.

The show kicked off at Cobo Hall with several automakers taking the stage. Chevrolet, Jeep, Lincoln and BMW were just some of the few that made announcements.

These auto companies revealed new models and concept cars to media and car lovers.

Tuesday, it's Ford's turn to take the stage.

The auto company plans to unveil its all new Ford Fusion during a news conference at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.

This will be the first time Ford will hold a news conference at the arena because of construction taking place at Cobo Center.

The conference will take place just before 9 a.m.

Just a day before his State of the State address, Gov. Rick Snyder will tour the North American International Auto Show. He will begin at the General Motors showcase, and media are welcome to join.

Besides getting a sneak peek at the cars of the future, many automakers were anticipating the awards for car and truck of the year.

Monday, the 2013 Cadillac ATS was named car of the year, which is a first for the luxury GM line.

The 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 won truck of the year.
