AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

The Greater Augusta Arts Council hosted the Wet Paint and Party Sale Saturday night.

The event featured 40 local artists selling their art in a market style in the Julian Smith Casino.

"There are so many artists here that are just amazing with their art and we want to bring them together and give them a fun festive party that everyone wants to come to and honor them," said council member Ann Beth.

Six artists also painted on-site at the event.

All of the art was auctioned and the sales went to the artists and the arts council.

"This is just an awesome platform for the community to find out about the wonderful talent that we have here in Augusta," said Cheri Tutt who is also a member.

The event was sponsored by Fox54.
