Saginaw County men face their accuser in court

SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

Gary Sowa and Steve Jackson are accused of drugging, kidnapping and raping a woman back in August of 2011 at Jackson's home in Saginaw County.

Friday, the alleged victim testified in court during a preliminary examination. She says she was at a party at Dixie Speedway in Bridgeport when she left her drink on a table to go use the restroom. She says when she returned she saw Sowa standing near her drink.

She went on to testify that she ended up drinking her drink and shortly after lost all memory of where she was and what she did. By the time she came to she says she was in a room, lying on her back, not knowing where she was.

"I was dazed and confused and scared. I really didn't know what was going on. I knew something was wrong but I didn't know what was wrong," said the woman.

The defense attorneys argued the alleged victim was not drugged and willingly went to Jackson's house. They claim that she was drunk and that her blood alcohol level was well over the legal limit.

No word yet from the judge on whether the suspect will stand trial.

If convicted, both defendants could face life in prison.
