1 person hospitalized after train strikes car

GRATIOT COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Gratiot County Central Dispatch tells TV5 a train has collided with a car in the Village of Breckenridge.

The car vs. train incident happened just before noon on Friday morning.

The crash occurred on M-46 near Wisner Street. Police at the scene said one person was inside the car that was struck and that woman has been taken to an area hospital.

Authorities said the train impacted the passenger-side front door when the woman stopped her car on the tracks, possibly in a moment of panic.

Right now there's no word on how extensive her injuries are.
