Congress to not meet deadline to avert fiscal cliff

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WFXG) -

The Associated Press is reporting that Congress will not meet the midnight deadline to avert the 'fiscal cliff.'

This report come after sources have been reporting all day that Congressional officials were close to making a deal.

On Wednesday, $109 billion in cuts to defense and domestic programs could possibly take effect as a result.

The AP specifically says the House won't be voting today. It remains uncertain if the Senate will take action.
