Elderly woman hit, killed in Phoenix intersection

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Police are investigating a fatal crash at 36th Street and Thomas early Friday morning.

Police said an 86-year-old woman, using a walker, was trying to cross the street against the light. She was hit by a pickup truck and killed.

The victim was identified on Friday afternoon as Vera Dodd.

Police said the driver was not at fault and is cooperating.

Crews shut down the intersection for a brief time.
