AIKEN, SC (WFXG) -

Last night just after 9PM Aiken Public Safety officers responded to Richland Avenue in the downtown area in reference to a carjacking which had just occurred.  The victim stated she parked her vehicle, and as she was sitting in the vehicle a black male subject forced his way into her vehicle.  The male subject demanded the female to move over to the passenger seat, and informed her he was going to drive to the bank.  The subject drove the victim to the bank, took the victim's ATM card, and made a cash withdrawal.  The subject then demanded the victim to exit the vehicle at which time she complied, and the suspect fled the location in the vehicle.

This morning an off-duty Aiken Public Safety officer observed the vehicle being operated on Whiskey Road.  Patrol units initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, and the driver attempted to flee. After a short vehicle pursuit the driver then stopped the vehicle and complied with officers orders.  He was placed under arrest without further incident.  The driver was Timothy Greg Clement (27) of Aiken, SC.  During the investigation of him operating the stolen vehicle, it was determined he was the subject who committed the carjacking the evening before.  He was incarcerated at Aiken County Detention Center.

During the subsequent investigation a search warrant was obtained, and executed at a residence on the 400 block of Union Street NE.  Officers there located multiple firearms, stolen electronics, and illegal drugs.  The residents on Union Street were Joseph Carlos Brown (22) and Johnny Marlos Brown (22) both of Aiken, SC.  They were incarcerated at Aiken County Detention Center.  Aiken Public Safety was assisted in the investigation, and execution of the search warrant by the Aiken office of South Carolina Probation, Pardon, and Parole Services.

Mr. Clement was already wanted by ADPS for a Burglary 2nd degree charge stemming from incident at a residence on Greenwich Drive on 12/20/12.  Mr. Clement also committed a second burglary at the same residence earlier in the day on 12/21/12.

Suspect charges are as follows:

Timothy Clement (27):
