Ft. Gordon introduces new Deputy to Commanding General

Posted: Updated:

Fort Gordon introduced Nelson "Ned" Keeler as the installation's second civilian Deputy to the Commanding General.

Keeler comes to Ft. Gordon after more than years with the Army's Communications-Electronics Command.

He says what he's most looking forward to is doing his part in helping soldiers communicate as they complete their missions.

"One of the most important pieces of the tools in their kitbag is communications," Keeler says. "That's our signal officers. So to be part of that is just exciting and I expect it'll be very rewarding."

Keeler graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, after which he became a Naval pilot. Later in his career, he worked for NASA.
