Ronald McDonald House lights up for Share a Night

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

The Ronald McDonald House is all dolled up for the holidays.

Fox 54 reporters Rachel Moore and Elizabeth Rawlins flipped the switch Thursday night at the foundation's annual Share a Night Open House event.

Each light on the house represents a $20 donation by people in our community.

The Ronald McDonald house is a home for families with critically ill children who are undergoing treatment locally, away from their homes.

"If you've got a child in the hospital at Christmas, you're displaced. You're not at home. It's sad. It's scary," says Ronald McDonald House Charities of Augusta President and CEO Betts Murdison. "You miss Santa. You miss all your traditions, so we try to bring a little bit of home here so the families can enjoy it."
