NORTH AUGUSTA, SC (WFXG) -
North Augusta restaurants can now apply to sell alcohol by the glass on Sundays.
All they have to do is pay an extra fee, $3000, on top of their regular licenses.
Sunday sales was approved by the city's voters during the Nov. 6 election, and permits for restaurants became available Monday.
City Administrator Todd Glover says an obstacle for restaurants to North Augusta has been removed.
"It's not something that I think you'll see restaurants just come to North Augusta tomorrow," he says. "But I believe its an impediment we've removed that helps us in the recruitment of restaurants."
