AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -
An Aiken County
family with two boys who are big fun also have some big bills.
McCall and Sawyer Hydrick suffer from
a rare esophageal disease, Eosinophilic
Esophagitis, commonly
known as EE.
Because of the disease, the boys have severe
allergies that limit what they can eat.
Their mother McKenna Hydrick said the
family has a lot of medical expenses, "They drink a medical food formula that's
not covered by insurance. It costs about $30 a day to drink this. Then we have
tons of medical bills because two of them go through treatments and the maintenance
of their disease at MCG."
$2,300 was raised Sunday night for the family at a benefit
concert by their church TrueNorth.
"For people to come out and help
us out and to donate will free up some money for us to use in other areas of
our life. It's just a blessing," said Andrew Hydrick.
Even though the benefit concert was a
big help, the Hydricks still have a great need.
