AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -
There's still one Richmond Co. Commission seat up for grabs, but that will all be taken care of next week.
Neither incumbent Matt Aitken or candidate Bill Fennoy received at least 50% of the vote in November, so they will go head to head in a runoff scheduled for next week.
Both say they feel good about where they are less than a week out.
"I think I had an even stronger presence this time around," says Aitken. "I think people know, just like we're standing here today, that I'm a man of action, and I want to see things, and I have expectations for the departments and what we need to do and those kinds of things."
"I feel very optimistic," Fennoy says. "I've been working real hard, knocking on doors, making telephone calls, and doing what I feel is necessary to get the people back out to the polls Tuesday."
Early voting is currently underway for the 14 precincts in District 1 until Friday. The runoff is December 4.
