Bank of America is holding three days of face-to-face meetings with its Phoenix-area customers having trouble paying their mortgage.

Specialists will be on-hand to review homeowners' financials and determine if they are eligible for a home retention or transition solution which will help avoid foreclosure.

The bank said it has reached out to more than 4,000 Bank of America customers with the goal of assisting as many as possible.

Since 2009, Bank of America said it has taken part in 45 homeowner events in Arizona and completed more than 4,800 loan modifications. Local non-profit partners will also be on-site to provide financial counseling.

The event runs from Tuesday to Thursday

Organizers are reminding people who attend to bring a list of documents required for a full review.

Customers can register for the event by going online or calling 1-855-201-7426 (toll-free).

Appointments are available from 8 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. daily.

The event is being held at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown at 340 North Third St.

Foreclosure activity in Arizona jumped nearly 18 percent in October compared with the previous month. Foreclosure listing firm RealtyTrac says nearly 4,200 homeowners lost their homes in October, and another 6,400 were served with notices of default.
