Sheriff-elect Roundtree names Chief Deputy

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Richmond Co. Sheriff-elect Richard Roundtree has announced his first move to his staff.

Roundtree tells Fox 54 he has named Chief Patrick Clayton of Richmond Co. School Safety his Chief Deputy.

Clayton served with Roundtree with RCSS. Before joining School Safety, he was a 30-year veteran with the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Clayton takes over for long-time Chief Deputy Sid Hatfield, who retired in September.
