AUBURN, AL (WSFA) -

The Auburn Police Division is asking for the public's help in identifying the two people shown in a video clip described as "persons of interest" in the Toomer's Corner oak trees fire.

The fire started at approximately 3:20 a.m. Sunday, November 18, 2012, and was recorded via a webcam that is located on a building overlooking the intersection where the trees mark the separation between the city and Auburn University's campus.

Toilet paper, which had been thrown into the trees earlier in the evening following an Auburn football win against Alabama A&M, burst into flames and spread.

Both people appear to be wearing dark colored pants and light colored shirts. A nearby bank's ATM captured a photo of the unidentified individuals as they walked past.

The overhead webcam, which streams a live feed of the corner at www.toomerscornerlive.com, captured footage of the two crossing the intersection, walking under the burning trees and disappearing down the street.

Anyone with information regarding the fire or the identity of the persons shown in the video and photo is asked to call the Auburn Police Division at (334) 501-3140 or anonymously by text or voice on the tip line at (334) 246-1391.

This isn't the first time there's been a fire at Toomer's Corner. The trees, which are in declining condition following their poisoning after the Iron Bowl nearly two years ago, were also set on fire during a home game win against the University of Georgia in 2010.
