Salvation Army says pies needed for annual holiday meal

There will be food, and plenty of it, to help serve the neediest on Thanksgiving Day.

This is just some of the bounty generously donated to the Salvation Army in Shreveport.

But organizers of this year's holiday meal for the poor tell us they are in dire need of pies.

You can drop them off any time at the Salvation Army facility at 200 East Stoner Ave. in Shreveport.

And, if you are in need of a holiday meal on Thanksgiving, officials say they expect to be feeding as many as 1,200 people between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
