Rescue Mission plans for Thanksgiving feast

They are unpacking donations for Sunday night dinner but soon they will be unpacking a Thanksgiving feast for hundreds in need.

"They come from broken families or some have addictions and it's a lonely time," said Cody Hall with the Garden City Rescue Mission.

Hall knows what it's like to be on the streets this time of year and says he is more than happy to be at the shelter and able to help others.

"Garden City has been a blessing to me and it gives people a purpose," said Hall.

This time of year that purpose is organizing a clothes giveaway and the Rescue Mission's annual Thanksgiving feast.

"Of course it takes a lot to get all the tables and chairs set up and to get all the plates and silverware and that type of stuff," said Hall.

All the food will be donated and passed out with the help of volunteers who know how much it means to give back to others.

"To be there for people who don't have families to go to on Thanksgiving and it's just a blessing to have somewhere to come," said Hall.

A blessing those at The Mission are thankful for this holiday season.
