Pilot in Arizona plane crash walks away uninjured

HOLBROOK, AZ (CBS5) -

An oil failure is believed to be the cause of a plane crash in the Sitgreaves National Forest on Friday morning.

John James with the Navajo County Sheriff's Office said Robert Wolff, 61, of Durango, CO, was heading from Durango to Mexico when his plane went down in a wooded area off of Forest Service Road 45, northeast of Pinetop.

After the crash, Wolff used his cell phone to call the Federal Aviation Administration.

Wolff appeared to not be hurt but was taken to an area hospital for evaluation.

James said the 2005 Super SR22, fixed wing plane is registered to Durango Development Inc. in Durango.

FAA is investigating the crash.
