Principal escorted out of school by police; teachers brought out on stretchers

Posted: Updated:

Terrace Manor Elementary Principal Hartley Gibbons was escorted out of his school today just before 11am by officers with the Richmond County Board of Education Public Safety Division. Our crew on the scene also saw two teachers taken out of the building on medical stretchers. FOX54 is also told school board officials were present too.

Today's events follow an outburst at last night's Richmond County School Board meeting. Gibbons lashed out at the board meeting accusing officials of not taking care of mold issues in the facility. Following his outburst, Gibbons was escorted out of the meeting. Once outside, he began protesting outside of the building.

FOX54 has a crew on the scene. Stay with us here at wfxg.com and tonight on FOX54 News at 10pm for more details.
