Another Emanuel Co. escaped inmate caught; Two more on the run

Emanuel County, GA (WFXG) -

According to FBI Special Agent in Charge Mark F. Guiliano, Cecil "Red" Dewitt Nelson was captured Monday night without incident.

Nelson is one of six inmates that escaped from the Emanuel County Jail on Saturday. He's charged in connection with two Bryan County kidnappings of businessmen earlier this year. The FBI issued a $5,000 reward on Monday for Nelson's capture.

According to Emanuel County Sheriff Tyson Stephens, the six men escaped after a jailer failed to lock a chase door. The sheriff said the door to a utility zone was opened during the weekend to allow a work crew into the area to fix a plumbing problem. When the crew left, the jailer closed the door but failed to lock it.

Four of the six men are back in custody. Deputies and U.S. Marshals are continuing to look for Matthew Findley, 27, and Jeffrey Webb, 26.
