Tuberculosis test results at Butler High delayed

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Health officials have delayed the release of tuberculosis exposure test results at Butler High until next week.

As of Friday afternoon, heath officials are still reading tests for students being tested for TB.

Officials began testing students after one student began showing the symptoms of the disease. So far, several students have tested positive for exposure to TB.

At this point 500 students have been screened.

Health officials tell Fox54 they may hold a press briefing next week. Stay with Fox54 as we continue to follow this developing story.
