Pedestrian stuck and killed on Mike Padgett Highway

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Richmond County Coroner Kenneth Boose has confirmed the death of a pedestrian struck while crossing Mike Padgett Highway.

The victim, Brian Boings, 27, was crossing the highway at Old Waynesboro Road. He was pronounced dead at GHS Medical Center at 6:55pm.

A portion of the road was closed for a while as the Richmond County Sheriff's Office investigated the incident.

The driver of the vehicle in the incident has not been identified.
