Arizona man in neighbor shooting released on bond

KINGMAN, AZ (CBS5) -

A Golden Valley man facing charges that he killed a neighbor over a driveway dispute has been released on a $200,000 bond.

The Mohave Valley Daily News reports that a judge Wednesday set bond for 60-year-old Phillip John Martin who is charged with first-degree murder for the shotgun death of his neighbor, Steven Jeffery Schwartz.

Mohave County sheriff's deputies found Schwartz with a gunshot wound to the stomach in Martin's driveway in Golden Valley last month.

Before he died, Schwartz told deputies that Martin, who was inside the home, fired the shot. Schwartz was taken to a Kingman hospital where he later died.

Martin's attorney, Eric Beiningen, said that Martin called for an ambulance and had problems with people breaking into his home and with trespassers.
