One person shot and killed in early morning shooting

Aiken County, SC (WFXG) -

The Aiken County Sheriff's Office is actively investigating an early morning shooting in Aiken County on Balltown Drive near Jack Jones Street.

Investigators tell FOX54 that they received a call from Aiken Regional around 1am about a person who went there and had been shot.

Investigators tells us that 2 people in a vehicle along Balltown Drive were fired at by an unknown person or people. 20 rounds in total were fired at the vehicle. The driver was not shot during the incident, but the passenger was killed during the gunfire.

The ACSO is actively investigating the incident and have not yet released the victim's name.
