Columbia County remembers a man, dedicating a bench in the Evans Towne Center Park in his name.

Wednesday morning family, friends and members in the community honored Otis L. Crowell. Crowell donated to several charities in the community, and was an involved member part in the county.

"It's just really wonderful that they came up with this idea," said Linda Crowell, Otis Crowell's wife. "I don't know who all to thank, but Otis was involved in many coalitions and government. He was always involved in every aspect."

Crowell died in December 2011. He was 76 years old.
