UPDATE: Missing GHS doctor found safe

NORTH AUGUSTA, SC (WFXG) -

UPDATE: Dr. Janik was located late yesterday afternoon by GHSU Police.  He was found to be safe and unharmed. 

North Augusta Public Safety and the family of Dr. John Edward Janik need your help.  Since yesterday morning, Dr. Janik has been missing.  He never reported to work and a Missing Persons report was filed with Public Safety around noon on Tuesday. 

Dr. Janik was last seen headed to work at the Georgia Health Science University in his burgundy 1995 Chevrolet Camaro convertible wearing his brown jacket and pants with a white shirt.  The South Carolina license tag is 6839FS.

At this point, there is no evidence to indicate foul play.  According to the family, Dr. Janik has never disappeared or not been reachable like this before and are concerned for his personal well-being. 

Anyone who sees Dr. Janik in the area or has information as to his whereabouts is to contact either North Augusta Public Safety, the GHSU Police Department or the Richmond County Sheriff's Office immediately.
