Pets dress up for Halloween costume contest

Posted: Updated:
AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Dressed as penguins, witches, and pirates, some Augusta pets are getting started on the Halloween festivities. Sunday afternoon dozens of dogs were treated to the CSRA Humane Society's 20th annual Pet Affair.

The event raises money for the no-kill shelter that houses 250 cats and dogs waiting for "fur-ever" homes. Down at the Julian Smith Casino, the afternoon started with a silent auction, and raffle, and ended with a contest judging which animal had the best costume.

The Pet Affair is hosted every year on the last Sunday of October.
