Monster Bash raises thousands for GHS Children's Medical Center

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

It was a ghoulish good time for a good cause Saturday night, as hundreds donned their best Halloween costumes for the first ever "Monster Bash."

The event benefits Georgia Health Sciences Children's Medical Center.

Nuns, superheroes, and even the Mad Hatter were in attendance as organizers hope to raise $10,000 from tickets and a silent auction.

"We get a lot of sick children and that's the downpoint in their lives and their parents lives," says Pediatric CCU Nurse Marie Smith, who also helped organize the event. "We would like to use this money to purchase diversional activities to make the hospital stay better for the children."
