Augusta, GA (WFXG) - The Paine College NAACP Chapter held their "This is My Vote" rally and campaign forum to encourage the community to exercise their right to vote.
Students invited several local candidates to explain their platforms and agendas for the upcoming general election.
However, the issue students say will affect them the most is how they'll pay for college.
"The pell grant, that's very important to us," said Kara Shipp, president of the Paine College chapter of the NAACP. "...loans, federal loans, because with a lot of college students, money is the issue. So if we don't have the funds, we need certain stuff for that."
Voters will go to the polls on November 6. Advanced voting in Richmond County continues at the Board of Elections Office only through Monday, October 22. Saturday voting begins October 27, at the Brigham Center, the Warren Road Center and the main office.
