HEPHZIBAH, GA (WFXG) -

Two Hephzibah women have been taken into custody after the mummified body of a dead man was found inside their home.

Richmond Co. Sheriff's Deputies were called to the home on the 4200 block of James Dr. in Hephzibah where they found the body of 22 year old Robin Adams.

According to investigators, Adams had been dead long enough for his body to begin to mummify.

Adams' mother, 43 year old Angela Mercer, and sister, 18 year old Deaidra Motley, were taken into custody and charged with Concealing the Death of a Person. Both are being held in the Richmond Co. Jail.

Investigators say Adams suffered from several medical conditions, which caused him to function as an invalid with the mental capacity of an infant.

The body was sent to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy. Further charges could be brought against Mercer and Motley.
