Couple safe after overnight kidnapping

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

A Richmond County couple is safe today, following a scary overnight kidnapping.

Investigators say the couple was home at their apartment in the Woodcrest development, when a man with a gun broke in, held them at gunpoint and then kidnapped them.

The suspect made the couple drive him to several ATMs until they were able to withdraw money. After withdrawing money, the suspect had them drive back to their home and then he fled.

Nobody was hurt in the incident. Investigators are still looking for the suspect.
