A man has been arrested in Burke County in association with a string of thefts across a three county region.

Last night around 8:14pm, Burke County Sheriff's Office deputies stopped a 2001 Ford F150 being driven by Wayne Darnell Coleman, 47, after an off duty deputy from the Jenkins County Sheriff's Office spotted the vehicle traveling north on Highway 25 in Burke County while pulling a trailer.

The vehicle matched the description of a vehicle that had been involved in several thefts in Jenkins, Burke, and Jefferson Counties. The trailer that Coleman was pulling was found to have been stolen from Anderson General Store located on Hwy 80 East in Statesboro.

Coleman and his vehicle had also been captured on security cameras stealing a car-hauling trailer from a business (Dixon's Wrecker company) in Burke County back in June.

Coleman is also a suspect in a theft of a trailer and lawn mower from Millen on October 1 and a theft of a concrete mixer from Wrens approximately a year ago.
