MARTINEZ, GA (WFXG) -

The next time you go to the story, you can do more than pick up eggs and milk.

You can help fight breast cancer.

Kroger kicked off their Breast Cancer awareness campaign Sunday.

Customers can purchase pink paper ribbons for a dollar when they checkout. All proceeds go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

As the disease becomes more discussed, Kroger says it's beginning to affect more and more families.

"It affects so many people now. It may affect your mother, your sister, aunt, cousin, or friend," says Kroger Columbia Rd. Unit Manager Marla Choice. "We've had several people within the kKoger company that it has affected as well, so that's why it is so important to us."
