Free golf at Hickory Knob State Resort Park for Public Safety Personnel next month

MCCORMICK COUNTY, SC (WFXG) -

For one day only, golf on the championship course at Hickory Knob Resort State Park will be free as part of an appreciation day for public safety personnel.  That's a savings of $120 for foursomes who reserve tee times in advance. The regular cost of golf plus cart at Hickory Knob on a Wednesday is $30 per person.

The offer is valid only on Oct. 17. Only one foursome reservation can be made per caller on a first come, first served basis and there are only 74 spots available.  Tee times for the Oct.17 promotion start as early as 8 a.m. and end at 6 p.m.

In addition to great golf, the state park will be offering lodging specials for Tuesday & Wednesday nights at $50 for lodge rooms and $70 for park cabins (price does not include taxes and fees.)

Located in McCormick, SC, about 45 minutes northeast of Augusta, Ga., Hickory Knob State Resort Park is the only full-service resort in the SC State Park Service.  It covers rolling, wooded shoreline alongside Clarks Hill Lake and also offers a boat ramp, campground, lodge and cabin facilities, a restaurant and one of the state's most popular mountain biking trails.

The golf course has been rated a Great Value by Golf Digest readers for its bargain rates, challenging course and natural beauty.  The course, which cuts through a dense pine forest alongside the lake, plays to 6,560 yards and a 132 pro slope.

Golfers can make foursome reservations or get more information by calling 1-866-369-9331.

For more information about the course, click here www.hickoryknobresort.com or www.playhickoryknob.com.  A valid ID will be required in order to participate in the free golf day.
