Venisha Brown, the primary suspect in an August vehicle theft that led to a hit and run incident in North Augusta, is now in custody in Richmond County.

Original Story:

A woman is wanted in connection with a hit & run this morning in North Augusta.

Hope Campbell of Grovetown was injured this morning outside the Regions Bank on West Avenue after she spotted a vehicle that was stolen from a church this past weekend in Augusta.

When Campbell attempted to take the keys of the stolen Suburban, the suspect, Venisha Brown, sped off, pushing Campbell into and over the hood of another St. Stephens Ministries vehicle parked in front of the Suburban.

Brown was last seen driving into Augusta in a gray Chevrolet Suburban with a Georgia tag reading "745WJX." She is one of the daughters of the late singer James Brown.
