New Columbia County fire station opens Sunday

Columbia County, GA (WFXG) -

Columbia County will open a new fire station on Sunday.

The fire station, which will be operated by Martinez-Columbia Fire Rescue, will be located at 1273 County Line Road.

It will serve the unincorporated areas north and south of the City of Harlem to provide 24/7 fire and medical first response services to citizens. Officials say it will further enhance the County's on-going efforts to provide fire service coverage in accordance with population growth.
