CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -
A Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools teacher has been charged with felony indecent liberties with a child.
Clyde Bernard Valentine, 59, was arrested Tuesday night after an investigation that lasted several weeks.
Valentine has been a teacher at Phillip O. Berry High School, where he teaches Career Technical Education, since 2002, according to a CMS official.
The official told WBTV that Valentine has been placed on administrative leave, and that CMS will wait for the outcome of the investigation to make a decision on his status as a teacher.
The alleged victim is not a CMS student, and the alleged incidents did not occur on school grounds.
Valentine is being held in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Jail on a $30,000 bond.
