TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

Tyler Police have arrested a woman in connection with a Thursday afternoon bank robbery.

Police say Regions Bank on the ESE Loop in Tyler was robbed at knife-point with a butcher-style kitchen knife, by a female wearing a "homemade mask" and dark clothing.

Witnesses told police the suspect fled in a black vehicle, possibly a Chevy Impala.

Tyler Police were given a partial license plate number of the suspect vehicle by witnesses.

Authorities were able to locate a vehicle that matched the description and partial plate off of University Boulevard, near the intersection of Lazy Creek.

When authorities pulled the car over, a knife and a bag of money with an exploded die pack was found. Officials believe the knife is the same one used in the robbery.

At that location, officials arrested the driver, Vanessa Ashford, 27, of Shreveport. Ashford was taken to the Tyler Police Department, where she was interviewed by investigators.

Officials say Ashford's vehicle was also taken to the Tyler Police Department, where investigators are awaiting a search warrant to search the vehicle.

Tyler Police say there were four employees inside the bank at the time of the robbery, and to their knowledge, no customers were in the building. No injuries have been reported.

Authorities say Ashford has confessed to involvement in the Telco Plus Credit Union robbery.

Ashford has been arrested and charged with aggravated robbery, a first degree felony, on that case.
