AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Lisa Stocker has been arrested for the death of her two-year-old son, Daniel Stocker, after he was found dead in their family pool Wednesday.

Stocker was booked into the Richmond County Jail for Misdemeanor Deprivation of a Child and Felony Involuntary Manslaughter.

Stocker told investigators she was asleep during the incident and wasn't meeting the needs of her son.

Richmond County deputies found missing 2-year-old, Daniel Stocker, dead in a South Augusta pool Wednesday.

Sgt. Blaise Dresser said the mother, Lisa Stocker, reported the toddler missing around 9am from their Creighton Place home.

Richmond County deputies searched the unmaintained, family pool behind the house for the young boy.

Dresser said the pool water was filthy, there were small lily pads growing in the pool and initially investigators were unable to find the toddler.

The Fire Department drained the water lower and Water Rescue walked through the pool feeling for obstructions.

Dresser said Water Rescue found the 2-year-old dead as they were searching the pool.

The incident is still under investigation.
