CHEROKEE COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

A Cherokee County Sheriff patrol car was involved in a one-vehicle accident early Tuesday morning.

According to officials, Lt. Frank Lindsay was driving down US 84 around 7 a.m., when the vehicle hit standing water on the roadway, causing it to hydroplane, spin, and crash into a tree.

Lt. Lindsay suffered from cuts and bruises, and an injury to his hand. Lindsay was taken to Trinity Mother Frances in Jacksonville, and is expected to be released today.

The accident happened about one mile west of Maydell.
