Jennifer Wells
McDuffie County, GA (WFXG) -
Ricky Wells and Tina Wells made their first appearance in court today for the brutal dragging death of Jennifer Wells in September.
Bond was set at one million dollars each. The Judge says under law, bond had to be set because both suspects have been held for more than 90 days.
FOX54 is told the reason for the hold up is because of issues with the medical examiner's report.
Investigators say Ricky Wells shot Jennifer Wells outside the Happy Valley Convenience Store on Wrens Highway and then tied Jennifer to the back of his truck and dragged her for more than six miles across multiple county lines.
The aunt of Jennifer Wells spoke with FOX54 after the bond hearing. FOX54's Jake Wallace will have her reaction to today's hearing a little later here at WFXG.com.
The District Attorney's Office plans to take the murder before a grand jury in June.
