(RNN) - Results of toxicology reports indicate singer Whitney Houston died from accidental drowning, and not from the combination of several drugs found in her system.

The Los Angeles County Coroner's office said Thursday cocaine was found in her system and was a contributing factor in her death.

Houston died Feb. 11 at the age of 48 the night before the Grammy Awards.

"We are saddened to learn of the toxicology results, although we are glad to now have closure," Patricia Houston, the singer's sister-in-law and manager, wrote in a statement to The Associated Press.

Other metabolites, such as marijuana, alprazolam (Xanax), cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril) and diphenhydramine (Benadryl), were present, but those drugs did not cause her death.

Evidence of atherosclerotic heart disease was also found. No foul play or trauma is suspected.

The final coroner's report will be out in about two weeks.

Houston was found dead in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton hotel. She was to be a guest at a ceremony celebrating famed music producer Clive Davis.

The singer had a well documented drug problem, but her friends and family were hopeful toward the end of her life that she had conquered her addictions.

Two days before her death, Houston appeared at a pre-Grammy party with Gospel singer and friend Kelly Price. In a later interview with Rolling Stone, Price said Houston appeared to be in good spirits, and even sang a duet of "Jesus Loves Me" with Price.

"There was no craziness going on, absolutely none of it. It was a great musical event," Price said. "And honestly, I'm saying it because her daughter was there with her, my two children were there with me. It was an atmosphere that lent itself to being okay for our kids to be there. So that's what was going on."

More than 1,500 people attended a private memorial held for the singer in her home church in Newark, NJ on Feb. 18. Stevie Wonder, R. Kelly, Alicia Keys and other singers performed.

Friend and co-star Kevin Costner delivered a moving eulogy, noting Houston's vulnerability and insecurity.

"The Whitney I knew, despite her success and worldwide fame, still wondered, 'Am I good enough? Am I pretty enough? Will they like me?'" Costner said. "It was the burden that made her great and the part that caused her to stumble in the end."
