MEMPHIS, TN -
(WMC-TV) - A Memphis police officer was
arrested early Monday morning after he was involved in a drunken crash,
investigators say.
Roger Williams was behind the wheel around
3:15 a.m. Monday when his vehicle left the road and smashed into a
concrete embankment and a fence, according to police.
No other cars were involved in the crash at American Way and Perkins.
Investigators say the 31-year-old was drunk at the time of the crash, but refused to take a breathalyzer test.
Williams has been on the police force since 2010.
He's been relieved of duty with pay until an administrative investigation is complete.
